Motivation: Industrial Organizational Psychology

Applied Behavioral Science can be defined as a professional application of psychological knowledge to solutions of problems that are associated with human behavior. Some main areas target populations, competencies that require development and evaluation. All these factors can be uniquely combined to exhibit consistent and manageable solutions to situations at hand (Davey, 2011).
While Jasmine must provide strong leadership and strategies that will motivate herself and her staff, she is the Manager of a large retail Store. She has a staff which is lacking in motivation resulting in sales numbers that are down for the year. If Jasmine wants to continue to stay in her current position as a leader, she must use certain skills and motivation in which will provide the company with substantial numbers. Noncompliance to the results puts Jasmine in a situation where she may be replaced. She must provide strong leadership and strategies that will motivate herself and her staff. After being called into the corporate offices, her direct supervisor has tasked Jasmine with adjusting her leadership style and making organizational and environmental changes in the local store to motivate her team to meet the next quarter’s sales goals to support her and values of the company The vast change can occur for Jasmine at any point in time, in this business the revenue rate is so indescribable and, everyone can be replaced. Educational can also be applied here to be able to practice and relate to any research needed in order to perform quality management and leadership skills (Aronson, 2005). Therapist that have been trained in this area to be of usefulness and purpose to individuals that may be struggling in their current position or seeking employment have a perspective that shown through a cycle this cycle shows us how any one individual might progress through a job. Some Evidence based practice which is used and can be proved through scientific method. In reviewing our cycle in occupational therapy and comparing with the scientific method reveling many similarities in the form that are conducive to application in this case study. First, the individual enters the job, being attracted and then selected into a particular role. There are of course logistic issues to go with this, such as learning about how things work in this particular organization, getting used to the people you are working with, socialization(Davey, 2011). From the day the job has started, there is a need to manage performance, as the organization needs to know to what extent the employee can fulfil the given tasks to the required standards, and take appropriate action if this is not the case. Employees might move into a different role after a while, for instance take on more management responsibility, and might need to be prepared for such transitions (Judge, T. A., Jackson, C. L., Shaw, J. C., Scott, B. A., & Rich, B. L.2007).Professional study and development are also important, as there are few roles where workers and organizations can afford not to update skills. Making assessments for each one of the employees Jasmine has. Designing goals and essential skills. Retraining and effective situations that can better the staff. Using the scientific method can be useful in establishing a well-developed plan for each employee. Seeking if there may be issues that are not being resolved. Building the team to a conductive manner with integrity. Valuing any communication skills that are necessary for the entire staff as well as Jasmine to be ambitious and energized to perform at their best. As well as the
