Living in a new country or new culture is not easy at times because of many aspects in our real life. I remember before I went to the America, my parents said I wouldn’t experience any culture shock, because I’m very outgoing and definitely an open-minded girl as many American girls. Sometimes, I have some creative ideas during real life, my mother think maybe I will be more suitable for the American education system more than Chinese’s. All those things my parents said to me are true, in the beginning of arrived at America with new culture, I was so excited and enjoyed. I made many new friends and I enjoyed I can choose any class that I want, however, after a certain amount of time, I started feeling frustrated and depressed due to many problem, I experienced the culture shock as many Chinese students. I’m not good at speaking and listening in English, although I’m very outgoing and I’m brave to talk to talk and communicate with new people, however, English become my barrier to communicate with new people and professor. I remember in the first semester. I had a psychology class. There are lot of articles to read. But I can not fully understand, I need to spend a lot of time to look up information and dictionaries. The teacher spoke so fast that I couldn't understand it completely. So my class efficiency was very low. Living in a new culture can be very difficult, a lot of things are different in my home country and my familiar culture environment. Due to those problems, if I want to adjust myself in new culture, I have to learn whole new way of living. I try to watch more American TV and books to improve myself, there were so many things strange to me before, but now they are very natural, maybe this is a step to adjust this new culture. I will not forget I’m a Chinese, but I just want myself Americanized a bit that I can be more successful
