Amid this transition, Ms. Jackson informed me about the weekend position of another young lady, Lovely, with an intellectual disability. Unfortunately, that did not awe Brittany, the child I shadow. Next, I made a remark that caused Ms. Jackson to teach me a lesson. When questioning Ms. Jackson about a coloring book for Lovely so I could communicate with Brittany the way we ordinarily do, she replied, "Teacher, what might you do if this was your classroom? What might you do with her?" That's the point at which I understood that it is so simple to ignore people with a disability, attempting to place them elsewhere to complete your agenda. Promptly, I altered my mindset and knew to permit Lovely to have a place in our gathering, showing how inclusion works. It also taught me a valuable lesson on what it means to presume competence. Despite my observations, I could not allow myself to deny Lovely the opportunity to participate and prove that she was able to complete the arts and crafts
