Mr. Malter In The Chosen

Mr. Malter is a good man that all can come to for any kind of advice. He will always be there for anyone, but his way of helping other can sometimes be bad for him. He lets other people's problems be a bigger deal to him than his own problems. All together, he is a very reliable person that you can come to for help at any time. In The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, Mr. Malter is very reliable and will help others regardless of their problems the same way every time.
Mr. Malter cares very much for those others around him. He cared for both his own kid and his friend so that he could bring out the best of both of them. He brought the kids together in many ways. He helped Danny when he needed someone to talk to. “How is Danny feeling?” (Potok 90%). Mr. Malter cared a lot for Danny and helped him through whatever he had to go throught. He understood that being raised in silence should have been and will continue to be hard on Danny, since he will not be able to go to his father and speak with him at any time. Early on in this story it was obvious that they had already had a previous relationship. Malter is static and does not change much at all, and that is good. He does everything the same way throughout the entire book. He does not change at all, and that is good because that makes him a very reliable person to come to for help. “No one can help you with this, Danny. It is between you and your father. But think carefully of what you say to him and of what his questions will be.” (Potok 98%) He is giving the same type of advice he gave him when he first started reading books. He does not encourage it, but he is there for him no matter the outcome. Mr. Malter is a very reliable person that anyone can come to for help and he will give the same type of advice every
