A couple nights before Parent Teacher conferences, the $10 million dollar Pauling Pride diamond was brought into the school. It was to be put on display for the parents to see. Unfortunately, on the nigh of October 1st, it was stolen. Only people were in the building that night, Mr. Skinner, Mrs. Swenson, Mr. Patching, and Mr. Rose. They left behind a plethora of clues including fingerprints, powder, footprints, and a note written in pen that we were able to analyze. After applying various tests to each piece of evidence and watching the security footage, I believe the robber of the precious gem was Mr. Patching.
From the door of the stage to the diamond, there was a thick layer of mysterious white power covering the floor. We believed the robber used this powder to see the red laser beams protecting the diamond. To analyze this powder, we took 4 small portions of it and applied various liquids to see how it reacted. The liquids we used were water, vinegar, iodine, and cabbage juice. Once we recorded our data, we repeated the tests on powders that resembled the powder at the scene. When it came, we were finally able to see the criminal. Although it was dark, the camera made out the basic shape of everything on the stage. For one thing, the robber walked near the white board that was about 200 cm (5ft. 11in) tall and his head hit the top. That means the robber had to be at least5' 11". Only 2 teachers were that tall, Mr. Rose and Mr. Patching. The robber was also wearing basketball shorts and Mr. Patching loves basketball./ Near the end of the video, the robber is seen sitting the stage. In the light, you can see him taking off something and throwing it in the trash. Those could be gloves used to prevent fingerprints and Mr. Patching was the only one without fingerprints found at the crime
