Mr. Chief police, the crime scene in Mr. and Mrs. Verbermockle’s bathroom has a lot of evidence suggesting foul play. The crime scene had few water on the floor, the lifeless body of Mr. Verbermockle’s on a pool of blood lying a distance away from the bath tub covered with a blanket, and a bar of soap that looks like it had not been touched. Leading to Mr. Verbermockle’s body were footprints, and on the right of his body was a broken cologne bottle and a broken scale. Mrs. Verbermockle’s claim was that her husband slipped, fell and hit his head on the bathtub while taking a shower. I am not fully convinced that her statement matches the evidence on ground. Although, she appeared distraught at our arrival, yet she seemed perfectly okay during the interrogation, and contradicted herself at times when she was asked about the time and sequence of event.

The position of the body closer to the sink rather than the bathtub, the evidence of a broken cologne and a broken scale at the crime scene, the evidence of a dry soap and a dry body all contradicts her statement that Mr. Verbernacle fell and hit his head on the bathtub while taking a shower, which may have led to his death. The above evidence indicates a cover up to a crime well orchestrated either out of vengeance, long held animosity, or a retaliation to an abusive relationship gone sour. The cover up although not artfully prepared may be indicative of Mrs Verbernacle’s naivety to such crimes or to an outcome she never expected, who knows. Only, Mrs. Verbernacle can answer these lingering questions to this tragic event-what may have led to the death of her
