Mrs. Turpin's vision is the final piece of God's message to the egocentric woman. She believes herself to be better than most people, which is a sin. God utilizes Mary Grace in the waiting room of the doctor's office as a conduit to relay the message to Mrs. Turpin that she is a warthog from hell. If Mrs. Turpin had decided to ignore Mary Grace and not egg on a conversation with her mother, perhaps the events that occurred would have never came to be. I see the afore mentioned as a burning bush event via higher power, which could have ended there, if Mrs. Turpin had not decided to challenge God's will directly near the end of the reading. He sent Mrs. Turpin a vision of a white bridge reaching up from fire, which can be construed as hell.
