Multiple sclerosis (MS) is considered as one of the most common causes of progressive neurological disabling nowadays. MS is mainly characterized by regions of damage in the brain known as (lesions) caused by the destruction of nerve coverings leading to symptoms where affected individuals undergo several effects of nervous system damage. Researches have revealed that MS prevalence has arisen dramatically over the period between 2008 and 2013 to 10%, affecting 2.3 million people worldwide (MSIF, 2013). Until the present time, no ultimate cure of MS has been yet established. However, treatment can assist in faster recovery from attacks as well as regulating associated symptoms. Due to that, studies about multiple sclerosis pathophysiology and available treatment are rapidly developing.

These regions determine the experienced symptoms and their severity. Along with the affected region, the extent of demyelination and remyelination and the adequacy of subsequent restored synaptic transmission both contribute to the symptoms (Williams & Wilkins, 2013). MS is characterized by periods of exacerbations and remissions, resulting in major disabilities. Four patterns of these periods have been sorted out into: 1) Relapsing –remitting: the commonest type where exacerbation is followed by remission, 2) Primary-progressive, where only worsen of symptoms occur, 3) Secondary-progressive, which starts with relapsing-remitting and gets worse, and finally 4) Progressive-relapsing; a rare pattern where relapsing is steadily worsening. MS symptoms range from numbness to paralysis in severe cases. Common symptoms include: visual disturbances, mental changes, limb weakness, loss of sensation, depression, paranoia, muscle spasm, and bladder and bowel dysfunction. The disease progression is believed to be influenced by immunological factors. However, the etiology
