Murder can take different forms in society, depending on the social context of the environment where it is committed for example individual or personal murder where only a single individual carries out the planning and execution of the murder. Another form of murder is group murder or collective murder where a group of people either organized into a criminal gang take part in a violent activity that leads to the murder of certain individuals (Anderson et al. 2009). Such an example of murder is an example sociological perspective of murder, and it is one of the most rampant practices that have led to the deaths of very many people across different cities.

The social location also includes the education level of the individual, their sex or gender, ethnicity or racial background, their age, and many other personal attributes. Such personal attributes include the marital status of an individual, and all these considerations of social location have a hand at the level of crime or murder experienced or committed in the cities. Everyone knows how important their social location is and how they impact on their existence in a particular neighborhood and even then the cases of murder still occur. What makes the case of violence and murder thrive in such societies is the lack of awareness of the implication of different factors that form up a social location. Violence and murder will mostly occur in places where people are vulnerable, and this vulnerability is contributed to by the lack of awareness that people exhibit about their social location
