Muscles take up a large part of our body, somewhere around 3540%, this makes sense though because without them movement would be impossible. There are three different types of muscles, skeletal, smooth, and cardiac each with their own different functions and controls.. They are what allow us to move and even communicate, because there are muscles in our face and jaw. Muscles are composed of muscle fibers that are made up of myofibrils. The
Myofibrils contain sarcomeres, which contain actin and myosin. Actin and myosin are what actually create the contractions in muscles. There are also three different types of muscles, Skeletal, smooth, and cardiac. Skeletal muscle are the muscles that are controlled voluntarily, and we control for the most part.
Smooth muscle fibers can be found in the walls of visceral organs. Cardiac Muscle is found in the heat, this type of muscle has not stopped moving since birth. There are two different types of muscle fibers, slowtwitch and fasttwitch fibers. Fast twitch fibers are used when participating in fast paced activities for a short amount of time, like weight lifting. Slowtwitch fibers are used when running or cycling, and provide much more endurance. There are also three types of muscle contractions. There is concentric, which occurs when muscles contract and create force. There is eccentric contractions which occurs when a muscle elongates. there are also isometric contractions which create fore by no changing the length of the muscle. Muscles are extremely important in our everyday lives. Since they are what
