Mozart
Mozart has the power to change a room. It is true that most people have at least listened to his music with out even knowing who he is. His full name is Wolfgang Amaedus Mozart. He was born in the city of Salzburg, Austria on January 27, 1756. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart began playing for his first spectators when he turned six years old. Mozart contributed a lot to the music world over the years with the plenty of works he created and composed, everything ranging between his sonatas and his operas.
Mozart grew up in the city state of Salzburg after the Roman Empire fell apart. During this Renaissance period music experimentation or, in general, art was viewed with more interest. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s parents were Leopold and Maria Pertl Mozart. His dad Leopold was a great composer, violinist, and assistant concert master for the Salzburg court. Anna Maria Pertl, his mother, was born near family of some local leaders. Maria Anna was the name of his older sister. Mozart wanted to play like his older sister, seeing her play, and so eventually Leopold would tutor them both. It is no doubt that Mozart was a young prodigy.
After lots of practice with their father, both children did amazingly and Mozart, particularly, began to his first composition at age five. Leopold took his children on musical tours around Europe to expose them and make them known to the world. It is during one of these tours that Mozart met his later friend Johann Christian Bach. For example, Mozart wrote out a whole composition of Gregorio's Allegri's Misere with little error. Mitridate, was an opera that Mozart wrote while in Italy; he wrote this opera for the court of Milan. Lucio Silla and Ascancio are two operas he also wrote during his time there. Mozart later returned to Salzburg in 1773 and a few years of continuing to compose in 1779, he began to compose for the church.
In 1781, Wolfgang was called upon by the Archbishop of Vienna to play for him and his court. Mozart found his demeanor and ways less than worth his time and from then on decided to be a freelance artist in Vienna. Though it was hard to pull something off like that at the time, Mozart did not let that stop him from continuing to follow his dream of composing music. He quickly actually found work teaching others how to write music and play instruments.
