My Dance Influence On Shakira's Life

Dance is an art form that is displayed through the human body using the medium of movement. (Ambrosio, p. 3) Dance is also a form of exercise to keep the body healthy and fit. Everyone is easily influenced by dance either from a famous person or a close relative. When asked who had the most influence on me to love dance, the obvious answer would be Shakira. Shakira was born in Colombia with a Lebanese father and a Colombian mother, Shakira honors both her Latino and Arabic heritage in her music. She wrote her first song at the age of 8 and signed her first record at 13. With the success of her albums, Shakira became a music superstar in her Spanish background, known for her strong vocals, and incredible hip shaking belly dance from her Arabic roots. (Biography.com) Shakira is my dance influence because she worked so hard to get where she is now, her incredible music and dance changed the entire world, and she is helping out poor communities across the globe.
