Great discussion and topic of choice! Personally, I really believe that true leaders are harder and harder to find nowadays in society whether that be positions in government, business, sports or the working class in general. Leaders that lead individuals even when failure happens but except it and continue to push forward. Leaders that lead by example and push others to be better through adversity and success. Today I see a lot of people who want to be leaders but do not act like a leader, I see a lot of individuals who lead and then when they are struck with uncertainty hide behind others that they were supposedly leading. This has stuck with me even to this day. I always wondered why he told me this when I was younger but now I know exactly why. Many people tend to either be someone they are not, or they follow along, I am neither. Due to my dad placing this structure in my mindset at a young age I developed into always wanting to be a leader. The type of leader I see myself as and based on what other co-workers and friends have noted it seems that I fall right into your question as being a transformational leader. I try my hardest to not only lead but lead by example, with kindness and love, passion and dedication, with the desire to be the best that I can but also making others feel just as good! "In this manner, they completely engage their followers and help them to achieve their fullest potential" (Mulla & Krishnan, 2011, para. 3). So to answer your question I do see myself as a transformational leader and the leader that I would like to emulate would be my dad. I want to be just as successful as him if not surpass his leadership qualities. If you are not growing then you are either declining or stagnant and leaders do not allow themselves that
