My Mexican Culture

When I think of culture I think of a group of people that I identify my self with as having the same beliefs, values, and language. I come from the Latino community and we may have some things in common culturally, but the cultural I identify myself with is the Mexican culture. The reason I identify my self with the Mexican culture is because I was born in Mexico. Mexico is the root of my culture, my family is also a huge aspect in how identify my self in the Mexican culture. My family is my mother, dad, and three sisters. They have taught me my values, beliefs, food and language. Coming from a family of only women not only did my family influence my culture but also my school, peers media and my friends. My dad and family influence me to be dependent, as life is harder for women then men. They also influence me in getting a higher education and become someone in life, which I will always cherish and will peruse. My culture has taught me my religion a well and it has guided me to be the person I am today.

My culture is known for specialties food such as tacos, posole, carinatas tamales, sopes and many more. This is part of my culture identity because its part of my family and it’s a tradition it follows the Mexican culture and my family. My culture has puts a flavor in the food that I don’t want to lose so I try to learn from my mom in how to cook and spice the food I like. I have done tamales, posole and tacos and they have come out really delicious. During thanks giving or Christmas we don’t make the typical turkey or ham. Instead we get together, my sisters and mother and we make it a Mexican dinner. We make posole and tamales and we celebrate thanks giving and Christmas with ponche a hot Mexican drink same as tea in a
