Dance is an essential part of humanity. People from over the globe dance some type dependent on their country in culture. The beautiful aspect about dancing it show no discrimination. People from all ages, ethnicity, and background are all united in to one whenever dancing it involve.one dance in particular call the waltz is a former dance that was created back in the seventeenth century and is still being practice in modern day. Could make a small boy dizzy” State line (1-2). The boy was enjoying the dance of waltz with his papa, they couldn’t stop dancing the dance of waltz. The father grabs the son wrist to show him that he have extremely great power over him. The son couldn’t sleep not because he did not want to sleep, he just couldn’t because he didn’t want nothing to happen to his papa. As every family have their own issues and problems. Theodore’s family issues was mostly dealing with a father that had the eye of alcohol. The thought of growing up with a parent that is under the influence of alcohol numerous times within a week can be dangerous. Even with all the obstacles that appeared on the attempt of separating their family. The famous dance of waltz would let Theodore miss out on the childhood experience on dancing with a beloved parent. Furthermore, father and son enjoying the dance of waltz. Waltz is a beautiful cheerful dance that Theodore had the chance to dance along a parent that was under the influence with as little casualty as possible. In the poem “My Papa’s Waltz” Theodore Roethke mentioned “At every step you missed my right ear scraped a buckle” demonstrating that even with some difficulty to perform the dance in the correct manner their will to dance was stronger than the odds (line 11-12).
