Introduction- A domino effect. That is the best way to explain this play. Every character and event leads to another part of the play, so to narrow down who to take out is quite difficult. My standing position on the issue though is to take ismene out of the play. In my opinion the theme and moral of the play will stay intact without ismene.
Reasoning- My reasoning behind my decision is that the only big part ismene has in the play is the argument antigone and her have in the beginning. From the start she is not willing to risk her life for the same sacfrice antigone is set on completing. The argument is only on how ismene thinks she is being foolish and her saying she is not coming. Is that truly beneficial to the story? NO. Also ismene
