The course English 2 provided informational work that can help further my writing skills in other courses. I have always had a hard time with grammar when it comes to typing papers or in general speaking. I really did not understand what a thesis statement was before this class, while I still struggle with thesis today; I have an understanding of what a thesis should be. It should be a statement and not a question, which I originally thought was the thesis. One of my favorite parts of the course was learning the definitions of ethos, pathos and logos. The terms really add a lot to describing events in the world or adjectives in an essay. I do not like to do essay’s at all, but if I do them, I like to write about a subject close to my heart. I enjoyed the racism essay because as a young, African-American woman in this country, I feel doing research about the issue was important. Research essays are very interesting because you get to learn as you type your essay. I really enjoyed posting pictures with my essay because I learned how to cite pictures in MLA format, which is something I have never done before. The second essay on homeschooling was a little tougher because the subject of homeschooling does not interest me personally. I would never consider homeschooling my children and I decided to revise the essay because it was my lowest graded essay. I think my biggest struggle was lack of interest in the issue and I did not give one hundred percent effort in writing it. In my revision, I changed my thesis statement and added more information as to negatives regarding homeschooling. I also changed the entire final paragraph, which after re-reading seem to be way out of touch and not connected with the past points of the
