I have grown as a writer from my Rhetorical Analysis’s advisory draft. My confidence has grown as a writer from the start of this class. I know that my first writing will not be the best, but trough revision my writing will get better. One way that I have grown is that I can pull better information out of my sources and support more effectively. When I was writing my Rhetorical Analysis, I did not effectively support my evidence, especially with my logos. I am still not fully confident writing about logos, but it has gotten better. I have also improved on meeting my word count. The research librarian gave me techniques on how to narrow down my search for scholarly articles. I had a difficult time finding articles for my literature review, and to find one of my articles, I went back to the sheet the librarian gave us. I was still stuck for finding another article, so I asked a research librarian who helped me further. One class related activity that helped me the most in my personal writing process was a brainstorming activity we did in workshop one day for our Literature Review. The paper topic we did as a class was completely different from my paper topic, but it showed me what to do when thinking about my paper. It showed me how I could figure out who my audience would be and what my forward-looking conclusion could be as well, which gave me the most difficulties when writing. One class related activity that helped me the most in my personal revision process was getting someone to read my paper and give corrections. This gave me a different perspective of my paper instead of myself read about something that I knew what it meant. I got the chance to explain what I meant, and my reader could say what they thought about my paper and how I could revise something to make my paper clearer and better. I like the comments that are left on my graded papers, but I find it better to hear from my professor what they think, and to clarify what they mean. I know that not all professors comment like Professor Doyle does on papers, and instead they just give a grade. I will have to go to my professor to see what they think about my paper, and why I got the grade I did. I may not be able to revise my paper for a new grade, but it will help me become a better writer, because I will know what I did wrong in the past and can work on avoiding that problem in my next
