My second poem is written in the format of a sonnet, consisting of 14 lines, 2 stanzas, and 10 syllables per line. The rhyming pattern that I chose to follow was an “A B A C D C E” pattern, meaning the every other line rhymed except for the last. I found that by choosing this distinct rhyming pattern it added the most interest throughout my piece, and helped it flow better.
Furthermore I used a variety of literary devices to create more significance to certain lines, the most prominent of which that were seen through my work were hyperbole, Juxtaposition, personification, metaphor, and imagery (as seen below).
