I am writing this letter to discuss the evolution of my writing, revision, and researching process while attending your class. Regarding my previous essay’s, I will explain the choices I made in revising my writing and reflect on my writing process. Through the revision process in my writing, I feel I have achieved the four competencies for the course listed in the syllabus. I will explain what was problematic and what I did to improve my writing. I will discuss what sources I used to revise my paper and how it helped improve my writing technique.
The first course outcome students will correctly and ethically integrate and cite resources to avoid plagiarism. I have met this competency by learning how to properly cite texts to avoid plagiarism.

In the essay, Income Inequality I Inequality I had to write a paper about a personal experience which needed to include my analysis and provide an interest to the audience. I was also required to provide a clear purpose of the paper which I feel I did in the Income Inequality essay by providing a strong thesis which was The film, The Divide provides logical information and points of income inequality among the rich and poor using the appeals ethos, pathos, and logos. In the essay, Income Inequality essay I used the TEAR method which provided a topic sentence, provided evidence to be more persuasive. Also, to provide analysis on why the evidence supports my claim and why it supports the main thesis. For example, in my writing I state “stress then leads to substance abuse or even turning to alcohol to cope with the illness; therefore, this shows how the film persuades emotionally and connects with the audience using pathos since hearing the stories provides sympathy for the interviewees and the feeling of empathy toward the economic state.
