The goal of education is not only learning knowledge, but raise up the consciousness of citizenship. Nannerl O. Keohane, the author of “Self-Fashioning in Society and Solitude”, stats that “the ways in which your education should prepare you to discharge these duties effectively. We have particular responsibilities as citizens of democracies that impose on us more weighty duties (and provide much richer opportunities) than those available to subjects of an autocrat” (Keohane). As Keohane’s argument, education play an important role of teaching us how to be a citizen. We are not only learning knowledge in school, but also learning how to be a citizen. When we are studying in school, students are usually told to follow the rules during the class.
