Pauline R. Kezer once said, “Continuity gives us roots; change gives us branches, letting us stretch and grow and reach new heights”. The following two events helped point me in the direction I am today. Breaking my foot in sixth grade taught me to bear through the tough moments in life. Moving from Cupertino to Pleasanton taught me that change is a positive thing. These two events taught me that my life is constantly changing and will never be the same.

In a flash my life had changed, I moved from Cupertino to Pleasanton. Moving to Pleasanton meant that I had to leave my long time friends behind. Fracturing my foot in sixth grade meant that I wouldn’t be able to play outside with my friends for two weeks. I wasn’t able to go outside and have fun with my friends. During the period when my foot was broken, I was really bored. The type of bone I fractured in my foot required me to have crutches. Hopping on one leg from place to place made the leg I was hoping hurt a lot. This meant, I had to bear through the pain and went where I was required to go to. Having a fissured foot also meant that I would be receiving less physical activity than usual. So, the doctor made me eat less food than I normally would. This precludes I didn’t have a proper meal and was I hungry while my foot was healing. The months in which I had a fissure on my foot taught to bear through tough times.
