Walking to the principal's office. Hands sweating, really nervous. I open the door. The door slowly creaked open and I walk in the sweet smell of flowers hits me and I sit down. Different thoughts raced through my mind. What was going to happen? Was I going to get in trouble?
At the end of first grade my parents decided to move. They wanted to move because they wanted to change schools for me but are old house that I had lived at would only let us go to slv, and my parents didn’t want me to go to slv. So they decided to move. All though we had only moved across town it felt like a world of difference. My old school was a small private school in Santa Cruz. We only had one class per grade. Stewart explained to me that she wanted to here my side of the story and that was what she was waiting for. Slowly I sat up straighter and started to explain my side of the story. I explained about how I was new here and I was looking for friends. Then I told her about how I had approached them wanting to talk to them and I wanted to be friends with them. Then about the dodgeball incident. Ms. Stewart looked at Gabe and Zac for what seemed to be forever and told them “He just wanted to become friends with you. Give him a chance.”
The bell rang and I was told to go back to class. Zac and Gabe stayed and I waved back to them. I never looked back just imagining that both of them waved back.
Looking back upon this incident I find this was my first instance of truely resisting control. I showed that when someone tries to dictate my friends it doesn’t end well. Even though rare in my current friend group today, which includes Gabe and Zac we sometimes have problems with certain friends not liking one kid but other friends do like them.
