I was falling! My feet hit a ledge. I was safe, for now. “How far is it?” I asked my dad. We were driving from the campout to go repelling. I did not think that I would do it. Going off the side of a cliff was not something that appealed to me, to say the least. Dad, the world’s best driver, replied to me, (the person most scared of heights ever). “Two minutes”. He announced. Then, in what seemed like no time at all, we were there. The cliff was approximately fifty feet down. I was terrified. My scout troop- and friends- started repelling. The trick’’[o seemed to be keeping your legs lateral and not look down. I was right(1). This wasn't for me. However, all my friends were doing it! Soon, only my friend, max and I,I were left. We were beside ourselves. He was the one to first defy the wretched fear and go first. When he had reached the ground without a problem I yelled down “Was it scary?” “No” he replied. “It was exhilarating.” With that, I decided to go down. However, the cliff was tall and scary and did I mention tall? But then, I was clipped into the rope. Now in the Universe, there is an ancient and binding law that says “Once you are clipped in to go repelling you will immediately get more terrified than you were before. The trick (as mentioned before) was to keep your body lateral to the cliff. My problem was that my body was becoming too vertical. My feet slipped! I was falling! My feet hit a ledge with a grunt. I was safe. For now. I looked down. I was scared out of wits and adrenaline was running high. Fear, I am sure, shown evident on my face as I looked up towards my father. That, I am sure you well know, is impossible to pull off.
