The Naruto Fandom Is a Family
As most manga lovers all know, Naruto created by Masashi Kishimoto ended on November 6th of this year. Even before the date was set, people knew Kishimoto was planning to end the manga this year. When word got out that he was ending it, hype grew in the fandom after leaked images were sent out internet wide about the last movie that would be about what happened between the last two chapters, 699 and 700. Once the images were leaked, the major “shipping” groups, NaruSaku, SasuSaku, and NaruHina, escalated into an all out feud. With the creation of his most successful manga, Kishimoto also created a gigantic fan base to go with it. With all great fandoms in the anime and manga industry, there also come wars between fans which can become quite chaotic and a little frightening. Since the Naruto fandom is widely viewed across the country the fans take their characters seriously, even to the point of threatening others. The seriousness of the characters and their development can be seen as the fans’ way of seeing the characters as family instead of just manga characters created for a fun read.
