Natalie’s behaviour can be attributed to internal causes which can be proved by looking at the attribution theory.(cite) In terms of consistency, in every possible situation Natalie was taking time out of her work day to have some leisure time. From volunteering to hand carry medication to the floors, or taking the frequent “smoke break”, or coffee and lunch breaks which constantly ran long. Distinctiveness can be seen when Natalie spoke rudely of her previous supervisor at the hospital kitchen. One can only infer that at her last job, Natalie acted in similar ways with her disruptiveness and ignorance of the rules. Looking at distinctiveness, Maude only works poorly whenever Natalie is around. So there are two sides of Maude at work; the one where she is productive when Natalie is not in the picture and the other where she is of no use when Natalie is around. So it can not be said that Maude constantly works poorly in other situations. In terms of consensus, Natalie acts the same as Maude, if not worse. One would say that Natalie is the cause of this disruptive behaviour Maude displays because Maude only acts this way when Natalie is with her. Therefore, it can be said that Maude has high consistency, high distinctiveness, and high consensus and that it why we can attribute her behaviour to external factors.
