National Honor Society has been one of my top goals since my freshman year. When I heard about it I just couldn’t wait until I could apply. I want to be in National Honor Society because it will help me develop qualities and experiences that will last me a lifetime. One of the major qualities, and it is also a pillar of National Honor Society. This pillar and quality is leadership. Leadership to me equals sacrifices. What makes me think of a good leader is someone that is willing to sacrifice their time for other people. I want to strive for this, and apply this in National Honor Society.
I’m not the type of person who is the center of attention, or the person who is always picked to be the leader, but I am willing to put the time and effort in lead. I am Treasurer of Student Council. I just got this position this year, so I haven’t had enough time to make an impact. I’m excited though for the rest of the year to make an impact, and help Student Council grow.

I may not have a leadership title in band, but I have learned many qualities that will help me be a good leader. Our band is a team and a family whether it is marching or concert band. Band has taught me that the little things matter, and that even though you don’t hold a title you can still be a leader. In band being a leader is someone that is always there, and willing to do the hard work to accomplish great things. Leadership in band is helping others especially the younger band members who don’t know the things that the older kids do. For example how to put on and put your uniform on the right way.Band has also taught me commitment. It is your job to play your instrument, and be at the events that the band is at because you made the commitment to be apart of band. Marching Band and Concert Band have been great ways for teaching me the behind the scenes of leadership
