The National Honors Society is a prestigious association in which only those whom possess the qualities of leadership, academic excellence, service to their school and community, and character are members. I can assure you that I have acquired each of these attributes and deem myself worthy of becoming an NHS member. The National Honors Society not only does admirable work in the school such as organizing Red Cross Blood Drive, but also in the community by coordinating a raffle for alumni at basketball games and I would be honored to contribute. As a potential member, I can promise you that the qualities listed above are those I hope to contribute to the existing group of members. I hope to convince you that I possess such qualities

Achieving academic excellence has been a goal of mine since I was young. Ever since I attended preschool, learning was so enjoyable. When I started kindergarten, I was one of the first kids to learn how to read and to me that was so exhilarating. The fact that I possessed so much knowledge made me very happy. My inner competitiveness contributed greatly to my academic excellence. Competing with classmates made learning and going to school so much better for me. The satisfying feeling of awards for my academic excellence also made me continue to want to gain much more knowledge. I remember I would ask my mother to buy me books about math and reading, so I could learn more and would work on them over the summer. The satisfying feeling of understanding what the teacher taught me and being able to apply it was unexplainable. Ever since elementary, everyone always had high expectations for me and I considered them insane. As I look back now, I see that all the demanding work payed off. During middle school, I worked effortful and earned a 4.0 GPA almost all throughout my years there. I took a high school class in middle school and did not let that hold me back. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and have put sweat and tears into obtaining the best grades possible. I have not let the rigorous classes bring me down nor the extra work. My leadership has evolved from not being able to speak my mind to myself to letting it shine out into the world and holding various leadership position. Academic excellence has outshone in me and I plan to continue on this path. The community service that I have completed has helped me achieve the happiness of helping others and has turned me into a person of service. The character traits that I possess have shaped me into the person that I am today and I hope that I can become an exemplary person. With these aspects in mind, I hope that they have satisfied the needs of an NHS member. With great confidence I can tell you that I hold every attribute a National Honors Society member should have. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal and statement I hope you will take it into consideration; whether I am accepted or not I can affirm you I will continue to possess each of these attributes and improve each every single of them, but I hope to contribute them into the National Honors
