The boundlessness of technology, ever expanding within the context of mankind’s globalized communication, plays an integral role in the structure of modern society. Humanity lives an increasingly complex and interconnected world. In numerous instances, Inventions such as the telephone, the World Wide Web, etc., have proved fundamental to society’s ability to function. Similarly, the effects of such implements are nearly impossible to escape; we depend on them, grasping to our crutch lest it suddenly be ripped away and cause society to stumble. As a direct result, entities such as the U.S. government have recognized that accessing the digital plane would be fundamental in accomplishing their purposes due to the fact that its range of users is ever-expansive. …show more content…
Yet, the question of individual privacy remains an issue of utmost importance to the American people. How, then, can we retain our freedoms in spite of the actions of agencies such as the NSA, when they promote the notion that an individual cannot be protected whilst also maintaining their rights and dignity? By understanding the nature of the NSA as it currently stands, one obtains his answer. Americans cannot and should not continue to allow their liberties to be negated at the hands of the National Security Agency. It is evident that this segment of the government, whose shadowy actions too often appear to contradict acclaimed motives, proving itself lawless, corrupted, and untamable time and time again, is deeply in need of
