The 19th century gave rise to extreme changes of ideology and cultural concepts. Progressive nations began to come together, even while many countries had their own traditions and history. The ideas of Nationalism, belonging to a country for the better of it gave many of its inhabitants happiness and pro- Nationhood. So, in the pride of their nations grew the romantics feeling of the past built upon a cultural diverse nationhood. This pride grew to build several different countries, and grew in extreme popularity of common ground for a middle class group of people’s.
Therefore, these large groups of countries came together through the purpose of a new powerful ideology. Building their own culture based on Romantic’s feeling and identity of the past or a more liberal through location and dominance. Bringing a people largely together under one flag, with one purpose to show the world it's greatness. Thus the creation of national flags and national anthems were created. Along with 3 different ways of granting affiliation: Liberal nationalism, Cultural nationalism and triumphal nationalism. These concepts gave several composers of the era inspiration to create their nation's own anthems that would be adopted by large countries later on. Liberal nationalism creates its own nation unlike ethnic nationalism where the nation creates their individuality. And unifying under the ideals and grand desires to be free (against monarchy, or larger oppositions) while they already have a culturalized stance that has been formed.
