Navajo Code Talkers were a valuable asset to the United States during World War II. They are the reason America won World War II. These Indians were remembered as brilliant men and women. They were remembered to be very polite to everyone, even if they had been mistreated. Before the Navajo Indians helped the Americans they were much mistreated. They changed the face of war in battles. Without the Navajo Code Talkers we might not have won World War II. The Navajo Indians were much abused. It was the time period where racism was very common. From what I read in Navajo Code Talkers, these Indians were sometimes beat because of their skin, the way they looked, or sometimes for the way they talked. An example is “Navajo Indians were arrested because of their race, their round head, flat face and nose, straight black hair, and the narrow shape of their eyes did not fit in with others at the time” (Aaseng 8). Every message they could identify. When the Navajo Code Talkers finally arrived to the Pacific Ocean the Japanese code breakers had competition. Since the Navajo Indians were used to war, fighting for their land, it was not a big change to help the Marines. Marine code talkers were usually first to be called to the battlefield so they could secretly communicate to troop leaders. Every flight to the battlefield contained two and sometimes three code talkers. As seen in Navajo Code Talkers, soldiers were always ready for a code. For example, the author stated, “We were always on the alert for the call “talker” from communications, which indicated an incoming Navajo code message or the urgency for a transmission” (Aaseng,
