On October 28, 2015, EHLS Representative, LaQuasha Hall, met with Mr. Sanat K. Upadhyay and Dr. Maria Bondesson to discuss the events that led up to the accident which resulted in a needle stick injury, which occurred on August 18, 2015.

According to Mr. Upadhyay, the accident occurred approximately at 2:00 p.m. in Rm. #526 of the Science& Engineering Research Center building. Mr. Upadhyay stated that while working alone in the laboratory while attempting to give a set of microinjections SW620 colon cancer cells into transgenic zebrafish embryos; he noticed that the microinjections of cells there was an obstruction in the glass needle.

Mr. Upadhyay also stated that when he attempted to unload the glass needle, it broke and slightly pricked
