In every case of imperialism, it seems that an economic stance was the main reason for the push for imperialism into these areas. The Europeans seemed to be the common culprits as well, looking to further trade and resources to make a profit for themselves. With Europe being so huge, this put these smaller nations at a disadvantage. There was never a situation where, while imperialism was happening, that the countries being pushed into just sat aside and let it happen. There was a fight put out to battle the forces coming into their countries, but it was never successful. The Europeans were just too advanced in warfare technology, to lose to a smaller nation. This was seen over and over again, and while many people were lost during these battles, there were also positive changes seen in these nations through imperialism. Obviously the bad being that people lost their lives through anti-imperialism efforts, and unfair treatment by bigger European countries. However, in the long run, many positive aspects were brought about by imperialism.
