“Gestapo is born” (P2) states “ Now the stormtroopers had actual power of arrest and they relished its use. Jails were soon overflowing with people taken into quotes protective custody” resulting in the need for outside prison camps, the birth of concentration camps”. The importance of this quote is that the people , jews, could no longer trust their own law enforcement and could be sent to prison solely on their race or religion. This was very unfair and negative because the mere thought of not even being able to trust or be protected by law enforcement is terrifying to anyone. Finally , the jews were put and kept under terrible conditions. They were dirty , sick , hungry , and in rags. “ In rags, infested with lice, stabbed by hunger and lined up by fires “ “I’m telling the story” ( stanza 2). This quote is important because they were being treated as less than human; the people also could no longer trust their law enforcement. The conditions they were kept under were horrible and unimaginable. Consequently and sadly many Jews were captured , kept under horrible conditions , and killed. In conclusion, The holocaust was a horrible act of hatred. Jews suffered terribly ; they were beaten , arrested , and kept under terrible conditions. The holocaust had many negative effects on the survivors and society. The Jewish community went through a rough and terrible event but hopefully people learn from mistakes and something like this never occurs
