The Neolithic Revolution marked the transition from predominantly roaming hunter gatherer societies to agricultural towns. One of the contributing factors to this change was the advent of new technologies which allowed humans to store, prepare, and harvest food more efficiently and in larger quantities. The domestication of plants and animals was a driving factor for the increase in communities among humans. As bands of foragers and hunters grew in size it became more and more difficult for them to find and kill enough food to feed everyone. The increased size of the bands of humans forced them to look for new ways of growing food which led them to invent new technologies allowing them to domesticate animals and plants. Paleolithic hunter
