Personal Navigation Devices have become so popular because they allow users save locations to their favorite locations because of the high tech memory. It also allows users with the internet connection to update their systems regularly and find new location in town and out of town. Most users travel a lot and are in love with the PND so their recommend it to friends and family.
Some of the major PND’s are Tom Tom, Motorola, Magellan, and Garmin. I personally have experience with Motorola and I felt that their system was great. I used my systems in the mountains in California and the back woods of Mississippi and I didn’t have a problem in either place but I can’t say that I have phones service in places that my PND worked. In order for PND to win in this market manufactures provide state of the arch products at affordable prices for the people to buy them. A lot of people haven’t and probably wouldn’t by a PND based on the fact that they can use their phones. Yet if one of the leading manufactures produced a great product at a low price, then their more than likely headed for success.
I don’t see the PND being big business in the future unless as I stated earlier if they produce a great product at low prices affordable to all. Otherwise PND will more than likely just be factory in all cars, and standard for cellphones as is today.
