In the fall of 1929, Americans had just been hit by a major economic crisis known as The Great Depression. This caused unemployment numbers to increase drastically.The current President, Herbert Hoover, rarely put forth any effort to end it and just speculated that it would be over in the near future, which was a horrible excuse. Four years later, in 1933, Americans elected Franklin Delano Roosevelt as their President because he was a natural politician, he had a long line of political experience, and he actually believed and put faith into America. During his first 100 days, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt sent bill after bill to congress and they passed 15 major acts in attempt to resolve the economic crisis which was known as The New Deal. However, the President's New Deal solved and created problems for the nation in the 1930's by persistent experimentation, giving Americans hope they so desperately craved, and lowering the unemployment rate. Too start off, FDR also created created problems by using persistent experimentation. FDR had no clear agenda, nor did he have a strong political ideology. In document 1, it shows that the highest unemployment rate was in the year of 1933, and it also shows how the new deal affected the rate by slowly decreasing it. In document 3 Stanley Watson says," My dreams have been realized, thanks to an educational advisor and the lessons learned in the CCC." The CCC was made to offer unemployed young men jobs for mostly conservation.This shows that the Civilian Conservation Corps impacted his life in a good way because it was better than riding the rails and begging for food. He also lowered unemployment with the Public Works Administration (PWA) , and Works Progress Administration
