“Is Google Making Us Stupid” by Nicholas Carr claims that as we look to the internet as our main resource for information it also comes at a price. The benefits are great such as gathering information almost instantly and no longer needing to search for hours through books at the library. The down side is that it is affecting the way we read actual books or long writings, pretty much shrinking our attention spans in the process. Carr claims that he no longer enjoys reading books because he cannot maintain concentration on the book and that some of his friends are experiencing the same thing as well. He also claims that technology is becoming a huge distraction in our lives. Lastly Carr brings up how the media shapes our process of thought.
