First, we acquired about 10 ml of sodium chloride in a plastic tray and 50 ml of water in a graduated cylinder. Then we measured 2 g of sodium chloride on a balance and poured it into the graduated cylinder with 50 ml of water and stirred it until it dissolved into the water. We recorded what happened and repeated this step 4 more times until we dissolved 10 ml of sodium chloride into the water.
For the second step of this experiment we took 5 grams of the Salt water mixture from the first part and put it onto the evaporating dish and heated over a Bunsen burner.
