They all showed certain characteristics of the 1920’s, from the glitz and glamor to lifeless, shallow people. The characters all played a vital part in the novel. The author, F. Scott Fitzgerald, used this novel to represent himself and his wife. Throughout the story, Nick Carraway narrates and takes part in the drama. He is quite different from your average 1920’s native. Nick Carraway is a dynamic character because he went from an honest, tolerant man to being caught in the middle of several lies. In the beginning, Nick Carraway‘s speech claims that he is honest and anything but critical. “In consequence I’m inclined to reserve all judgements, a
