Nike is an industry leader when it comes to research and development and this does not end with just their products. Nike knows that in order to keep up with the growing technology and consumer interest they must develop new promotional strategies to draw in new consumers and to penetrate untapped markets. Through the use of social media Nike will be able to promote to more than 1.4 billion people, whether it be through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. The use of social media is free for all users but with the amount of revenue that Nike receives yearly, they will be able to spend money to have their tweets or Facebook posts sponsored, which will allow them to show up on every persons page, regardless of whether they follow them or not.
Television commercials or online videos could also be a viable option when promoting a new marketing strategy. Nike could create a commercial focused around women athletes, whether they are high school, college, or professionals playing the sport they love in the latest and greatest athletic gear by Nike. This ad would be focused directly on the women and show how their products can lift their game to new heights. A new slogan could be released with this ad that specifically targets the women audience too such as, “Rise as Women”, which would act as a call to arms for women to participate in more sporting activities.
