‘Noah’s Ark’ is one of the few biblical stories that the majority of people recognise, even those that have never attended church or opened a Bible. Although many people are familiar with this Biblical story, not many truly understand the genuine meaning behind the sacred text. Extensive research has found that ‘Noah’s Ark’ was written during the time of Eusebius, around 275-339 CE and was first told in the Torah in the Genesis flood narrative. (T. Baker, 2011) The story explains how Gods divinity is destroyed because of the degeneration of humanity. In an effort to stop this, God decides to destroy all living things but save the few who are pure. Noah’s faith in God is tested as humanity depends on Noah’s actions

(D. Aubrey, 2013) As the world’s population largely increased, immorality became much more common as God’s earth came to be corrupt. Noah and his family lived in the Middle East, around the region of Mesopotamia, which is believed to be situated near the Nile River in Egypt. (M. O’Neill, 2015) Noah was married with threes sons known as Ham, Shem and Japheth. ‘Noah’s Ark’ contains symbolic meaning that serves as a representation of principles that all Christian’s should pursue to develop within them. The story of Noah and his ark serves as a reminder for modern believers to always have trust in God, even when others are being disobedient and unfaithful. By reading ‘Noah’s Ark’, modern believers are able to acquire knowledge of what it means to be obedient towards God and to stay true to the Catholic faith.

Modern believers may question why God would destroy all of his creations but God truly believed that it was necessary in order for the world to be cleansed and restored. It is very important that Christian’s are able to differentiate between what the Bible states and the message that God is trying to imply. This biblical story teaches all Christian’s a very significant lesson by exemplifying the consequences of being unfaithful towards the Lord and ensuring that all generations continue to learn from past
