At the beginning of the speech he talks about the problems that the African Americans face. He tells them the background and what they have done to get to this point already. I had the opportunity to experience this speech in person at NCSU. My expectations of this speech were very high and once I got to witness the speech I was truly disappointed. The only aspect that I got out of the experience other than from reading was being able to hear the speech. Listening to the speech though was significant. Being able to hear the fluctuations in the voice of the speaker and the reactions from the crowd to certain parts of the speech was beneficial. Now more onto the speech. I believe that the speech is a very well written and carefully crafted. It uses many great tactics such as changing the frame, affective foundation, and saying what they are. He also uses all the proofs throughout the speech. This speech is a great example of an advocacy speech. The experience of going into the text and surrounding events around the speech is very helpful to understanding how to craft a great speech. Understanding what needs to be thought of and all of the events taking place that would affect the minds of the audience is important for a future public speaker to
