Subject matters of nonrepresentational arts rely on different things such as the visual elements and the principles of design. It also relies on the artist and what is presented in the artwork. When I first looked at Autumn Rhythm (pg. 434) by Jackson Pollock, the artwork seemed pretty overwhelming. The subject matter in this piece of artworks may vary by each person that looks at it. My perception of the subject matter of this piece is the interconnected lines and dots, and I think these connected lines and dots have a much bigger meaning. Pollock created this piece by exercising rhythmical, dancing movements of his body. I think the subject matter explains how everything this is connected and how we are all the same.
