The second theory that lies behind this intervention is “The Reduction of Violence Theory”, which says that “peace will result as we reduce the levels of violence perpetrated by combatants or their representatives” (Church & Rogers, 2006, p.14). One of the methodologies used for this theory includes the promotion of nonviolent methods – as Otpor did it– to achieve the social-political ends. Thus, Otpor’s plan was very simple and many nonviolent actions were practiced.
