Northwest Cabarrus Middle Inventory Summary
Northwest Cabarrus Middle just like most schools has lots of stuff. Assessing our schools inventory and inventory process at the end of the school year was enlightening. Now looking at things in the eyes of a principal the method by which supplies are purchased and handled needs to be revised. Each teach is given a checklist, they are to check what they need and how many of that item. When school begins there will be a box in their room with the requested supplies. The problem is teachers are hoarders, I will admit I have been guilty of this also, they will order three boxes of sticky notes but have ten boxes stored away this is wasting money.
Educational equipment, materials and supplies related to objectives, these items are requested by teachers, that request must be approved by the school leadership team. Teachers meet as a department decide what they feel they need to provide instruction.

If there is a problem a work order is submitted electronically. The technology in our building is fairly well maintained. The staff does receive training on new equipment when necessary. There does need to be better training for our new staff members, as it is now teachers have to train the new staff, which is not the most efficient use of time. In our school a computer cart with thirty computers is shared between two teachers. Our biggest issue is headphones, I suggested alone with the computer cart goes a set of thirty headphones. The two teachers will be responsible for not only the computers but the headphones as well. Our technology facilitator is supposed to keep a detailed inventory of all technology in the school. While having the discussion about the items on this checklist my principal and I realized the need to have our technology facilitator more
