The Challenge
Exp’s Calgary Office is currently seeking intern Survey Assistants to join their team for summer 2014. Reporting to the Field Services Manager, the successful candidates will be joining a fast-paced and rapidly expanding group. This is an internship position which could lead to future internships or full time opportunities.
Principle Areas of Responsibility
This individual will work on various construction sites in or around the Calgary area.
He/she will support the Exp construction projects by:
Assisting with the layout survey, specifically for rough grading, underground and surface construction
Assisting with quantity surveying and topographical survey during construction
Candidate will be required to use their personal vehicle.
The Skills, Knowledge and Abilities We Seek
Actively pursing a 2 or 4 year degree program in a related field such as Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Geomatics.
Must have valid driver’s licence
Must be able to carry at least 20 lbs of equipment.
Ability to work on construction sites, handling weather and site conditions.
Must have strong basic English communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong people skills, and ability to work with wide variety of
