In August Wilson's play Fences Troy is a man who lived a hard life and worked for many years and caused pain in many people's’ lives.While some may believe that Troy’s life is worth remembering and respecting for the impact he has had on others and the struggles he overcame it is clear that Troy’s life should be discarded
Throughout his life, Troy did nothing worth being remembered by; his most memorable actions were very negative.An example of this is shown when Troy wouldn’t let his son Cory play football,ruining his chances of going to collage.On page 8 Troy says: “I told that boy about that football stuff.The white man aint gonna lrt him get nowhere with that football.I told him when he first came to me with it…”This is an example of why Troy should not be honered,he destroyed his sons chance to go off to college, why should someone who destroys dreams be honered? Cory could of had a better chance in life if he went to college.
