Task I involved the setup of the network. Kyle, Casey, and Bernadette met in lab to work on this task. It was a simple setup for firewall E so that outside computers cannot access any internal computers and services. This involved setting up Network E such that all service packets were dropped coming from outside IP’s that were trying to access the internal network. Once Task I was done, everyone worked on Task II, which involved cracking the WEP and obtaining the key. This task took a few attempts. First we turned of the ethernet and turned on the wifi. We followed the PDF instruction to use aircrack and obtained the WEP. Once we had the key, we used it to set up a wireless card of Computer A.E to access Network E. We had to use sshpass.c as reference to write our own code that will go through all the variables in the dictionary.txt document while on SSH on User15 to find the right input password. The program did just that, and once it found the right password, it replied with good and we were able to obtain secret.pdf.enc1 and secret.pdf.enc2 from the files directory of User15. Lastly, everyone worked on Task III, which had us do a cryptanalysis and brute force password crack. We used cryptanalysis on the first file to decrypt the PDF. Brute force was used on the second to decrypt and used a program we made. For the report, Bernadette wrote the introduction, [NAME] wrote Task II, [NAME] wrote Task III, and [NAME] wrote Task IV. The group was coordinated using the Group.me mobile
