Splitting the grid into three smaller grids have many advantages. Since the size of the United States is so expansive, having three smaller grids will be easier to managed. When a problem occurred, whichever grids that the problem has occurred in will take care of the problem. The problem solving would be faster and the people doing the problem solving would naturally have more knowledge about the problem and its location because they live within the proximity of where the problem had occurred. The smaller area of control also allows for closer control and management of each interconnection instead of one large continuous entity that span the whole United States. The operation of the three smaller interconnections are operating as they should to obtain the most out of having three smaller one instead of a single large
